Anyone who watched the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics will attest, China has been enjoying a burgeoning of the performing arts in recent years. One of the most striking artists to emerge from this thriving scene is Li Wei. He has become renowned for his arresting and seemingly gravity-defying photographic work. After dropping out of art school Li decided to focus on action art because, as he puts it, only it “offers a chance to experience an action’s message through one’s own body.” Li threw himself (literally) into this …

There is a whole different meaning of a word “collectibles”. Family members Spilger from the town of St.Paul, Texas, have become collectors from pure boredom, and so they started to collect barbed wire. (They probably gathered napkins first). “One day we realized that our marriage is ruled by the monotony,” says Gary Spilger, and confirms that everything in life occurs because of problems in bed. “The woman and I began to devise how to enrich life. We have thought long and then remembered… the barbed wire! And so we created …

Once active doctor who now earns a living by organizing exhibitions of corpses is a proud owner of collection named “World Body”. Collection that contains about 200 bodies, conserving the original way, for which the copyright has only Von Hagens. The specificity of this method is that the blood and body fluids are replaced with silicone. The corpse was preserved soft, cold to the touch and, most importantly …

There are plenty of butt cracks, buck teeth and cheap beer to go around at Georgia’s Red Neck games. Until recently, few have heard of the settlement North Dublin (Dublin East), in the state of Georgia, until local radio station WQZY didn’t organize a Championship of America being wacky. The main prize was a cup or keg of beer (probably the beer is the first prize and a cup a consolation one).
The championships, which the residents treat as their world folklore tradition, was founded by Randy Tidwell grilling sausages with …

Edgar Mueller is a master of street painting that uses the street as a canvas. He paints over large areas of urban public life and gives them a new appearance, that way challenging the perceptions of passers-by. If one looks from the right spot, its three-dimensional painting becomes the perfect illusion. In one of his apocalyptic scenario, a family desperately struggle to cross what remains of a street. They hold hands while balancing on islands of tarmac. Below them a rushing urban river laps against rocks that glow with volcanic …
